Salary Compensation.

Scheme for percentage increase

on sterling salary detailed in 10th paragraph of Clementi's

Confidential despatch of 27th April 1928 contemplates no

fall in the value of the dollar below 1 shilling and 9

pence. Unofficial members unanimously agree that same percentage increase should apply when the dollar is below 1 shilling and 9 pence with effect from 1st January 1930. Estimated additional cost for 12 months if the dollar

remains at 1 shilling and six pence 8377,400 which would be absorbed in salary revision if approved see Clementi's despatch No. 37 of 22nd January 1930. Would be glad of your approval by telegraph.
